The Debrecen-based Herdon Law Firm is seeking a Legal Associate.

What We Expect From You
Law degree (with at least a cum laude grade)
Practical ability to apply substantive legal knowledge in our practice areas (particularly corporate law, employment law, business law, contract law, and commercial law)
At least 6–12 months of relevant professional experience as a legal assistant, trainee lawyer, or junior associate – or, in the absence of experience, outstanding and demonstrable academic achievements
Precision, reliability, and a structured, logical approach to work
Advanced, confident English skills in both spoken and written form, with at least a B2 complex language certificate in English
Ability to work independently and take responsibility, with a proactive attitude
Strong communication skills and openness to real teamwork
Commitment to professional development and passion for legal work
Confident user skills in office software (MS Office, Windows, Jogtár, Jogkódex)

Main Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing, and editing legal documents, contracts, and submissions
Preparing and filing submissions in electronic litigation and e-company registry proceedings
Monitoring legislation, conducting legal research, and preparing legal opinions on current matters
Performing legal due diligence
Communicating with clients, authorities, and courts in person, by phone, and electronically
Translating and editing professional materials (especially in English)
Providing professional support to the firm’s lawyers
Preferred Qualifications
Outstanding academic achievements at university
Notable scientific or competition results in legal fields (especially TDK, moot court, or other advocacy competitions)
Confident use of legal terminology in English, both orally and in writing
Knowledge of another foreign language (particularly German, Italian, Spanish, French, or Romanian)
Additional university degree or professional qualification
Work experience at a law firm or tax advisory firm with an international client base
